The deputy mayor Sandra Castro presided over the institutional flag-raising ceremony in the lobby of the Palau de la Paeria, which this evening will be lit up in blue to commemorate the founding of the UN.

The lobby of the Palau de la Paeria hosted today the institutional event commemorating the United Nations Day, which is celebrated every year on October 24, and which had the participation of the deputy mayor of Education, Cooperation, Civil Rights and Feminism, Sandra Castro, and a representative of the United Nations Association in Lleida, Eimys Ortiz.

The event consisted of the raising of the United Nations flag and the display of an informative panel about the work carried out by this international organization in favor of peace and human rights. In addition, this evening the facade of the Paeria building will be lit up in blue for this ephemeris.

Today's commemoration remembers October 24, 1945, the date on which the Charter of the United Nations came into force and is dedicated to spreading the actions carried out by the UN in different countries of the world and promote debate on its goals and issues such as world peace.
